This is a true story of my life. I dedicate this entertainment chronicle to my late
father Seymour and mother Sarah. As in many stories, this one has twists and
turns, happiness, sadness, reality, farce, and most importantly the way life really is
whether your beliefs or values are moral or not. People will shit on you.
I've broken this novel into sections; the beginning a little shot with some
humor and the foundations for what my life became and is today. The story
progresses into a normal young adult life with a twist and then right into
young teen life where my life really began to change. As a young adult I became
aware, as many do, of money, fame and sexuality.
Adult life raised a whole new adventure to my credo of "wow" I can
do this and get away with that? True, but not always the correct methods of getting
there, wherever there is.
I'll be telling the stories of my experiences in the entertainment industry
from 1967 until I left Las Vegas in 1992. Then a renewed life from 1992 until
today. One of my motto's: no matter what you do, things really don't change and
people are the same no matter where or when you associate with them. It is what it
is!
This is a must read for everyone. Most will either say: I'm making it up
or it's too hard to believe one Great Poster could do all that I've done in my
life time. As my parents would say, "ENJOY."

He has an extensive performance background in all areas of music, including; Jazz, Pop, Big Band Classical and Rock n Roll. He's been the lead trumpet player for such artists as Stan Kenton, Harry James, Ray Anthony, Si Zetner, and others. He performed with the Nat Brandwynn Orchestra as lead trumpet from 1972-1980 and the Johnny Haig Orchestra (relief band, Las Vegas) from 1980-83. He was the leader of his own band "The Rave" from 1984-90, when he became the musical director and featured artist at the Maxim Hotel in Las Vegas. He coordinated bands on the Barge at Caesar's Palace for 8 years and recorded albums with such stars as Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Dolly Parton, Diana Ross, J.J. Jackson, Andy Williams, the Pointer Sisters, Ray Anthony and Harry James. Doc Poster has performed with and contracted for many artists in Las Vegas and California over the past 45 years including such artists as Sammy Davis Jr., Cher, Liberace, Englebert Humperdink, Dean Martin, Diahann Carroll, The Jacksons, Barbara Streisand, Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons, Smokey Robinson, Barry Manilow, Natalie Cole, Ann Margaret, Shirley McClain, Anthony Newly, Robert Giome, Holiday on Ice, Steve Lawrence and Edie Gorme, Don Rickles, Wayne Newton, and many many more. He has played lead trumpet in over 65 musicals. Dr. Poster currently conducts, contracts and fronts his own Orchestra in Palm Springs and is the musical advisor - contractor and Conductor for the Palm Springs Film Festival for Richard DeSantis's Event Management Company and IL DIVO. Doc Poster has provided instruction as a certificated teacher in California Schools over the past Eightteen years as a music professor and teacher. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Redlands, Cerritos Jr. College, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He's earned many accolades including a Doctorate from Claremont Graduate University, three Master's Degrees in; Music Education, Music Performance, and Education Administration, and a Bachelors of Arts and Bachelors of Music degrees. He is National Board Certified and Exceptionally Qualified as a teacher under "No Child Left Behind." Doc is also a BACH Artist/ Clinician."
