Bahá'u'lláh describes The Hidden Words as a distillation of the spiritual guidance contained in the successive Revelations of God.

Shoghi Effendi called it Bahá'u'lláh's pre-eminent ethical work. The Hidden Words is written in the form of a collection of short aphorisms in which Baháʼu'lláh claims to have taken the basic essence of certain spiritual truths and written them in brief form.

Baháʼís are advised by ʻAbdu'l-Bahá, Baháʼu'lláh's son and the authorized interpreter of his teachings, to read them every day and every night and to implement their latent wisdom into their daily lives. He also said that The Hidden Words is "a treasury of divine mysteries" and that when one ponders its contents, "the doors of the mysteries will open.

Designed and published by Simon Creedy, a well known Sydney graphic designer.

Bahá'u'lláh: - "Bahá'u'lláh - The Divine Educator - In the middle of the 19th century, God summoned Bahá'u'lláh-meaning the "Glory of God"-to deliver a new Revelation to humanity. For four decades thousands of verses, letters and books flowed from His pen. In His Writings, He outlined a framework for the development of a global civilization which takes into account both the spiritual and material dimensions of human life. I have never aspired after worldly leadership. My sole purpose hath been to hand down unto men that which I was bidden to deliver by God - Bahá'u'lláhBahá'u'lláh suffered 40 years of imprisonment, torture and exile for bringing God's latest message to humanity. Today, His life and mission are becoming increasingly well-known across the planet. Millions of people are learning to apply His teachings to their individual and collective lives for the betterment of the world."
