About The Author

Shafaʼat Ahmad Khan (1893–1947) was an Indian historian, scholar, and politician known for his contributions to the study of Indo-Muslim history and British-Indian relations. Educated at Aligarh and Oxford, he taught history at Aligarh Muslim University and later served in political roles, including as a member of the Central Legislative Assembly. His works emphasized a balanced and scholarly interpretation of Indian history, particularly Mughal and colonial periods. Khan also contributed to India’s constitutional and educational development during the late colonial era.
