​Throughout its history, the science of psychology has been attempting to find its footing. Its theories, ideas and perspectives remain disparate - the incongruities presumed to be a natural by-product of its subject matter. Psychology appears to have no logic to drive theory, achieve unities and confer intersubjective agreement. This starkly contrasts with physical science, which has so successfully harnessed mathematics and all the agreement it confers, and given us an extraordinary mastery of the physical world.

The logic within mathematics has afforded us this mastery, and the means to view the physical world very simply. This simplicity has proven far less effective though in advancing our understanding of psychology. But the failure of historical rationality to be as effective for psychology as it has for physics is not only due to the complicated nature of psychological subject matter. Classical rationality is missing a lot of essentials without which the subject matter of psychology cannot be conceptualized in the well-formed way required. With its wealth of implications and applications, richness and rigor, the logic of psychology has universality, facilitates insight - and offers a well-founded, satisfying understanding of self-and-world.

McQuaig, Peter: - Peter McQuaig is president of the McQuaig Institute, a leading psychological consulting firm in Canada. He has headed up research and development of psychological assessment methods that have broken new ground in their validity and comprehensiveness. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto in psychology. He has long studied areas of science and philosophy related to physical science as well as social science and psychology. The Logic of Psychology has important implications for numerous subject areas of science, social science, psychology, philosophy, politics, and for everyday life.
