Bobby Holmes is about to experience the most chilling summer of his life.

Sent to the United States to visit his cousin, Brenda Watson, Bobby falls asleep on the plane from London and receives a warning from a terrifying, long-dead pirate to stay away. This warning is repeated by a fortune teller at the Mountain Lake Carnival just as Brenda's father is attacked and someone else in town is murdered.

Can Bobby and Brenda, with the help of their friends, solve the mystery, find the lost treasure, and finally put the ghostly pirate to rest before someone else ends up dead?
