About The Author

Albert Einstein (1879–1955) was a German theoretical physicist renowned for developing the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics—two pillars of modern physics. His 1905 paper on the theory of relativity and his famous equation, E=mc², revolutionised our understanding of space, time and energy. In 1915, Einstein expanded this theory to include gravitation, formulating the general theory of relativity, which described gravity as the curvature of spacetime. His contributions to the photoelectric effect helped establish quantum theory, which later garnered him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921.

Besides being a physicist, Einstein advocated for peace, civil rights and social justice. Fleeing the rise of the Nazi regime in the 1930s, he emigrated to the United States, where he continued his scientific and political work until his demise in 1955. Today, Einstein is considered one of the most influential scientists in history, and his name has become synonymous with “genius”.
