Our story takes place in the small village of Dragon Point, Maine, population 3,283, which doesn't include Mr. Nichols' dog, Shakespeare or Tati's black cat, Whisper. You are probably wondering where the name "Dragon Point" came from. Well, there is a beautiful rock formation that sits high above the town, which is unmistakably in the shape of a dragon, thus, the name, "Dragon Point." It is a picturesque location that attracts tourists from all over the world. They come to Dragon Point to enjoy the rugged coastline, the excellent cuisine, and to explore the tiny shops that line Main Street. There are a number of fancy boutiques and an unusual number of antique shops. Now, this is where it gets interesting, you see. The antique shops are filled with the most unique, strange, and hard to find antiquities. They contain bits of the past and mysteries of the future, and their proprietors are well versed on the oddest of subjects. Yes, Dragon Point is quite an interesting place for many reasons that you will soon understand. It is the summer of 2009, a summer no different from any other summer in the small coastal town or at least not for the moment. Of particular interest is a small group of children who call themselves, "The Fearless Five." You are probably wondering how they got their name. Let me just say that they love an adventure, they love a mystery, and they love exploring the unspoken secrets that exist in this small quiet village. Although, there are some who would say that their mischievous ways just always seem to get them into some sort of trouble. I will let you be the judge of that. This quaint coastal village is steeped in history. The old homes and shops are built on land that was once inhabited by sea captains, Native Americans and maybe even a pirate or two. So, one could understand that there could very well be a spirit lingering here and there. And, yes, you are right, there are probably even hidden passageways in the old historical homes, unexplored caves along the coast, and things that would intrigue and capture the attention and the imaginations of The Fearless Five. The Fearless Five is made up of Penelope Star of course; everyone calls her Penny. Dolphine Bias, who is Penny's best friend; everyone calls her Dolly. Then there is, Billy Long, Ben Eagle, and Eddie Callahan; yes, five all together. Five children whose names sound ordinary enough but believe me they are not ordinary children by any means, nor are their adventures. Somehow and for some cosmic reason their paths were meant to cross. Call it destiny or fate that brought them together at this point in time, in this small village of Dragon Point, Maine. As I said, everything seems quite normal but then again it always does. That is until the adventure begins... the mystery of the three dragons...
Paula M. Ezop absolutely loves writing for children as it takes her to a place where all things are possible, a place where dreams come true and fantasy becomes reality, where bears can talk, mountains can move, dogs can sing, and alligators can dance. She brings all of the characters that exist in her mind to life, they become real, and she has the pleasure of sharing them with everyone who reads her books. She has contributed to Chicken Soup for the Caregivers Soul and she has written the foreword to Whispers of Inspiration, a collection of both poetry and prose gathered from voices around the world. She has also written numerous children's books. Paula holds the Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Her heartfelt and meaningful writing began as a means to overcome the loss of her husband. Paula has now written hundreds of articles and several books centering on life and faith. Her sustaining philosophy is that "we are more than the woman we see in our mirror."
