This book explores the profound challenge of artificial general intelligence (AGI) alignment, arguing that an algorithmic approach to creating conscious and empathic AI is fundamentally limited. Building on the author’s N-Frame model, it extends this critique to the P ? NP problem, proposing that consciousness reflects a non-computable process beyond formal algorithmic closure. Darren Edwards is an Associate Professor at Swansea University, UK, and a Chartered Health Psychologist with expertise spanning psychology, cognitive science, and complex systems theory. His research integrates mindfulness, evolutionary psychology, and quantum mechanics to explore the nature of consciousness and intelligence. He is the creator of the N-Frame model and leads projects linking AI alignment, observer-centric physics, and digital mental-health innovation. Author of numerous academic papers and forthcoming books on the observer-centric universe, Edwards combines scientific rigour with a deep philosophical commitment to understanding mind, meaning, and reality.
