The Prāchīna Gujerāti Sāhityā Ratnāmālā, featuring the Mugdhavabodha Auktika, is a foundational work on old Gujarati literature and grammar. It serves as a comprehensive guide for beginners learning Gujarati, presenting essential grammatical rules and structures in a clear, accessible manner. The text not only preserves classical literary heritage but also aids language learners in understanding the linguistic nuances of Gujarati. By blending literary examples with grammar instruction, it functions as both a scholarly resource and an educational tool, supporting the study and appreciation of traditional Gujarati language and literature.

Harilal Harshadrai Dhruv (1856–1896) was a distinguished Indian lawyer, poet, editor, and Sanskrit scholar. Educated in Arts and Law, he taught before becoming a judge in Baroda state. Dhruv was deeply involved in oriental studies and represented Baroda at the 1889 International Congress of Orientalists, earning a Doctorate. He co-founded the Prajahita Vardhak Sabha in Surat and was a member of prestigious scholarly societies. His poetry blends medieval Gujarati, Hindi, and Sanskrit influences with English modernism. Notable works include Kunjavihara and Pravasapushpanjali, featuring patriotic themes, alongside scholarly texts like Aharmimansa and Laghu Chanakya.
