The aim of this book is to analyze the principle of universal jurisdiction in the system of international criminal law. Chapter One focuses on the traditional heads of jurisdiction and compares them with the principle of the universal jurisdiction. Chapter Two discusses the possible material scope of the universal jurisdiction and describes the most serious international crimes. Chapter Three addresses the elements of universal jurisdiction in the statutes and jurisprudence of the international criminal courts and tribunals. Chapter Four examines the issue of immunity in criminal proceedings.
