Prof. Yang Qingxin is the president of China Electrotechnical Society, professor of National Candidate of the New Century Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project, provincial-level young/middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions, provincial-level managed outstanding expert, and recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance. He has previously served as the president of Tianjin Polytechnic University (2014-2018) and the president of Tianjin University of Technology (2006-2014).
He developed parameter coupling algorithms for electromagnetic dynamic characteristics; established finite element methods for 3D permanent magnetic fields with arbitrary magnetization directions; innovated separation techniques for engineering eddy current and hysteresis losses; pioneered finite element computation of giant magnetostrictive effects; created mesh-free methods for electromagnetic field numerical computation; and designed annular permanent magnets for large-diameter Czochralski single crystal furnaces.
