The arrival of a new pony to The Rainbow Riding School has everyone excited. Who is she and where is she from? Being different to the other ponies they become curious and suspicious of her. When the ponies call upon the wise old owl, Ptolemy, not everything is quite what it seems.

Blanco's Arrival is the third book in the series known as The Rainbow Riding School. The series follows the lives and adventures of a wonderful group of ponies and their friends living at the riding school. The ponies always call Ptolemy, the wise old owl, in their time of need. His words always end the story with a simple moral message. Atticus the stable cat and Ketchup the cockerel feature in these charming tales and provide the bite size humour in these illustrated books, aimed at children from 4 years upwards. Jenny Henwood, the author, is giving 50p of each book sale to one of four animal charities that complement the characters in the book.

Henwood, Jenny: - I am full time working mum and part time author living in Berkshire. When I was 7 years old I dreamed of owning my own riding school and I drew a picture of my Rainbow Riding School and named all my ponies after paint charts from DIY stores. However as time marched on, my studies took over and sadly I never got to fulfil my ambition of owning my own riding school but I never quite forgot about it either. After graduating with a first class honours degree I went on to work in finance in the fields of media and then law. When my own daughter was 5 years old and began riding lessons I recounted to her all my tales from my riding school and her excitement at hearing about them encouraged me to write them down. The publication of my story, Blanco's Arrival, is the third book in my first series of seven and fulfils an ambition for me to see my work in print. The pleasure and joy the whole process has brought to me has been immeasurable and I am pleased that I can 'give something back' through a small donation from each book to one of the four animal charities that complement the book characters. My hope and desire now is for children of all ages to grow to love the characters as much as I do. In a world, today, where children are encouraged to grow up too fast the world of The Rainbow Riding School provides a sanctuary for all children to engage with the animals and to use their imagination. Children can grow and develop at their own pace. There are strong moral guiding messages in every story and children are always guaranteed a happy ending.
