About The Book

Shiite thought followed the guidance of the Prophet's progeny, rejecting fanaticism, and emphasized accepting others and worked towards accelerating freedom of belief, as one of the fourteen general tenets of Islam.
It is noteworthy that the Zaidi Shiism was not the main sect of the Idrisid state, as the Maliki sect coexisted with the Zaidi sect.
The Buyids did not impose their Zaidi sect or make it the official sect of the countries they ruled. Rather, Islamic sects experienced the full freedom to express their ideas. Therefore, the Shiites were a small minority in Persia. This is evidence of the approach of sectarian freedom in Shiite rule.
The Fatimid policy towards Sunni sects was based on tolerance and not being forced to abandon what people believed.
The reason for the lack of spread of the Shiite doctrine compared to the Sunni doctrine, as it represents the majority of Muslims now, is due to two things: First, the rulers did not adopt it, because they have no legitimacy in the Shiite belief, so the conditions of a legitimate ruler do not apply to them, who in turn is resentful of them by killing, displacing and excluding them. Second, the Shiite countries that ruled did not impose their doctrine on the people, so there is no compulsion in religion and belief, and that is the approach of the Qur'an, the Sunnah of the Prophet and the biography of the Prophet's family.
We have reached an important conclusion about the fate of the Baghdad Library, due to the inaccuracy of historical transmission, because contemporary historians of events have remained silent on this subject. Al-Tusi even preserved it and appointed three prominent writers and historians to supervise it after the Mongol invasion of Baghdad.
