The Sceptical Chymist is a book written by Robert Boyle, a prominent scientist and philosopher of the 17th century. The book is a critical analysis of the then-prevailing theories and practices in chemistry, specifically alchemy. Boyle argued that alchemy was not a true science and that its methods and theories were flawed. He advocated for a more empirical approach to chemistry, based on observation and experimentation, rather than speculation and mysticism.
