The Seasons, a new collection of poems and stories by Gregory Opstad, is a love-letter to the Minnesota north woods and the BWCA. From boyhood memories to a mid-winter blizzard, this collection is a hybrid of short stories and poems, of a life before cell phones, living without electricity, children playing on a shore unaware of dangers around them, and an old man who lived through it all. The beauty of this place is shown through images of bears, trees, berries, and ships anchored in a cloud.

Opstad, Gregory: - Gregory Opstad is a member of Lake Superior Writers and the League of Minnesota Poets. His poems have appeared in The North Coast Review; The Rag; Migrations: Poetry & Prose for Life's Transitions; Trail Guide to the Northland Experience; Liberty's Vigil: The Occupy Anthology, 99 Poets for the 99%; More Voices of New Mexico; Manzano Mountain Review; The Thunderbird Review; Bringing Joy; The New Mexico Poetry Anthology; El Palacio; The Apaja'simk Journal; The Ekphrastic Review; and That's a Pretty Thing to Call It: Prose and poetry by artists teaching in carceral institutions.
