This book was last published three years ago and the first edition has been sold out. What naturally comes to mind is, why a second edition? Are there things I have experienced since it was first published? Are there things I need to rewrite or expunge from the book? How have I grown since the book was written? Certain things come clearly to mind. I have become convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the words we speak will determine our destiny. Our lives try to catch up with our words. In a sense, our lives are self-fulfilling prophecies. For years, many mystical organizations have stressed the need to make affirmations and emphasize the power of mind over matter. However, I have come to realize that affirmations without true relationship with God could be detrimental because it makes man 'God.' Affirmations should flow out of our relationship with God. He is the invisible support that keeps the structure of life going. In presenting this edition, we must recognize that our source is from a definite relationship with God. Prayer is not just talking to God but communing with God. Affirmation is the release of our faith; saying amen to our prayers and positively declaring what we have prayed for until it is answered. It is saying to God, 'Yes I believe.' As the Apostle Paul puts it, "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:10). Our confessions establish our beliefs and pave way for our success in life.

Rev. Prof. Gregory Efosa Erhabor is an ordained minister of the gospel and a trained medical practitioner. He is an internationally recognized teacher, preacher and visionary leader. He is the President/Founder of the Spokesman Communication Ministries, the Spokesman School of Effective Ministry and Leadership, and the Senior Pastor of the Sanctuary of Hope Church. He is the Host of the Hope for the Nation Television Broadcast. He is one of the leading Consultant Chest Physicians in Nigeria and has held numerous leadership positions nationally and internationally in the field of medicine. He is a Professor of Medicine, a discipline he has practiced for over three decades. He currently trains and mentors students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in the art and skill of medicine at the Obafemi Awolowo University/ Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
