About The Author

Trenell Harris is a rising poetic voice offering a fresh spin on life, love, and relationships. From a young age, Trenell has been a quiet observer of life. The son of a single mother, he spent a lonely childhood immersed in the harsh reality of inner-city life on Chicago's South Side. In his violent neighborhood, Trenell looked up to 'street entrepreneurs' and often associated with peers who were gang members. As an escape, he began writing stories, using his Catholic school classmates as characters. Writing soon became a means of coping with the stress of a violent environment, and gave a silent voice to his inner world. Carefully observing the world around him, Trenell began to develop refreshing insight and wisdom on life and the lessons we all encounter. Leeaving the streets behind, Trenell set his sights on corporate America. Hemoved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Clark Atlanta University, where he graduated Cum Laude with degrees in marketing, management, and finance.Along the way, he earned several honors, including inductions in the honor program, National Honor Society, and National Business Society. Trenell is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Far away from his upbringing, Trenell settled into a solid corporate career; however, he was not completely fulfilled in his accomplishments. An artist at heart, with an entrepreneurial spirit, Trenell began to write poetry as a means to enter the music business. He would soon learn that music was not his calling; poetry became his voice. Disappointed, but not deterred, Trenell embraced his gift and life experience and continued to write, leading to his first book, The Silent Voice: Life Lessons Through Poetry. In his freshman release, Trenell reveals a perspective on life, love, and relationships that is down-to-earth, inspiring, humorous and, at times, heartbreaking. Today, Trenell continues to be a passionate and prolific writer, with two novels, Black Couch Confessions and The Burning Sands scheduled for release in 2015. In his spare time, the devoted father of two enjoys playing sports, reading inspirational books, and spending time with his children. Trenell currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his family.
