With over 200 black and white illustrations, The Travellers' Rest, is a humorous and magical tale of a community, in which the many staff and customers of the inn, defend it from the dangers brought them by three despicable and conniving citylings. This tale of fire, flood, poison and a hostile takeover bid, takes place one glorious summer's eve. This first title sets the scene and introduces some of the many characters in The Travellers' Rest series. Set in the Great Elfish Forest, at a time when fairies brew the mead, a wizard walks the woods and tankards make mischief, it sees a small community take on the might of a corporate giant, the Bar Stool Thump Inn and Pub Company. I hope you enjoy it...XX...

I was an easy birth for a first, this happened on 3rd September 1963. I've always been one of those creative types. From my earliest memories I recall drawing, writing and making things. These interests have been with me all my life. Schooling in the then sleepy village of Harvington, near Evesham, was a delightful rural setting for a perfect childhood, until one day... ...My academic and artistic future seemed in doubt, when I was beaten up at high school in Evesham and suffered two brain haemorrhages and my schooling started all over again. I was changed forever in the way that I view life. My family moved to Redditch, where my family originally come from, where I was home taught before attending Redditch Collage studying art. From there I worked at the local theatre and gained an insight into the performing arts. I returned to college for a further two years. I completed a one year foundation in art and design and the second year BTec in Art and Design. I passed the course at merit level. To Stourbridge Technical College I went and studied Graphic Design HND and again passed this course. The next few years saw me starting a photography business, a jewellery business and working for Redditch Council's youth team. At this point I found myself in the world of temping where I found time to write and illustrate much more than I've ever done. I've worked in the fashion industry too, but shortly after my time there ended, little niggles brought on by the assault started to affect my life - primarily my back. I had been paralyzed down the right side and even though most of the use has returned and has been for years, there are still some side affects. I am available to write and illustrate. I write fantasy, heavy on the magic and humour, from fairy tales to modern day fairy stories where the magic comes from the characters a little more than from hocus pocus. Screenwriter, Tony Clarke, approached me to design the principle characters for his children's television series called, Monster School, which was considered by Paramount Pictures. Sadly the show did not go into production. A few years ago I was published thanks to Douglas Adams and the BBC in, The BBC book to the Future, and have illustrated a number of cover arts for books ranging from poetry to fiction. Currently I work at a middle school where I run some art classes as well as writing and illustrating at all other times.
