The authors trace the revitalised unilateralism and selective multilateralism of the US, while also exploring the broader multilateral frameworks developed by China and other countries. The chapters examine the economic and political changes experienced by China, the US, and the EU in terms of investment, trade, manufacturing, and global relations, including the EU's Indo-Pacific policy.

This book will appeal to scholars of global studies, world history, political science, international relations, and regional studies (China, Europe, and the US).

Liu Zuokui is senior research fellow and Director of the Institute of World History, Chinese Academy of Social Science. He focuses on the specialised areas of European History studies, Central and Eastern European Studies, European Union Integration Studies, China-EU relations, and EU-US relations.

Marek Hrubec is senior research fellow focusing on global studies, political philosophy, and the China-Europe-US relations in global interactions and tensions. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Yan Shaohua is Associate Professor and Deputy Director at the Center for China-Europe Relations, Fudan University, Shanghai, China, where he teaches and researches EU political economy, China-Europe relations, and transatlantic relations.
