This book is a collection of speeches presented by Surendranath Banerjea during his 1909 visit to England. It encompasses a diverse range of subjects, including his address in Manchester, a deep dive into the intertwining realms of religion and politics in India, an evaluation of the current state of affairs in India, an examination of the political landscape in the country, insights into Indian students and notable assassinations, as well as an exploration of India's ambitions and requirements. Additionally, it features discussions on Literature and Journalism (Lord Morley's Speech), Lord Cromer's critique of the Indian Press, counterarguments against Lord Cromer's critique, Banerjea's speech at the Indians' Dinner in London, dialogues at Sir W. Wedderburn's Breakfast, and contemplations on the tasks ahead and the responsibilities of the Liberal Party concerning India.

Sir Surendranath Banerjea (1848–1925), known as Rashtraguru, was a prominent Indian nationalist leader during British rule. He founded the Indian National Association, aimed at uniting Hindus and Muslims for political action, and was a founding member of the Indian National Congress. Banerjee supported the Montagu–Chelmsford Reforms, eventually founding the Indian National Liberation Federation in 1919. He played a pivotal role in protesting the 1905 partition of Bengal, resulting in its reversal in 1912. Banerjee was an influential figure in the Swadeshi movement and the editor of The Bengalee newspaper for 40 years.
