For many years now, the blog "Divorce in Connecticut" has spoken out courageously regarding the collusion between judges, attorneys, and mental health professionals which has placed children in the hands of their abusers and driven parents to the brink of financial ruin. By targeting vulnerable litigants with assets and entangling them in labyrinthian legal proceedings, by incentivizing litigation through provoking further controversies and undercutting attempts at mediation, by making false allegations of mental illness, judges and attorneys have found ways to exploit litigants to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions. The selections included in this book of collected essays represent only a small percentage of the essays that Catharine Sloper wrote over the years exposing the wrongdoing in our family courts. In total, they act as a call to action for all people of conscience to reform our broken Family Court System.

Catharine Sloper is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in History. She is also a freelance writer, blogger, and sometime photographer who endured a very difficult custody battle with the father of her two girls. She inherited a considerable inheritance from her father, a well respected New York City doctor and has devoted her life to helping other women in need. She loves to sew and design her own clothing. Holyoke College with a B.A. in English, and an M.L.A. in English from Harvard University Extension School. She is a long time advocate for human rights who also endured a high conflict, six year custody battle and eventually succeeded in obtaining residential custody her three children.
