This series comprises six currently available books, each playing a role in illuminating the concepts of the world's dissolution, the four ages, and humanity's decline in the Kali age. The content of this series is spread across approximately five volumes. These volumes are denoted as Book I through Book VI, collectively offering a comprehensive exploration of these profound themes. The Vishnu Purana, a foundational scripture in Vaishnavism with considerable followers in Hinduism, holds profound importance. As one of the canonical Puranas, this ancient text, written in the first millennium CE, presents a sweeping narrative covering the universe's origin to its ultimate dissolution over trillions of years. Delving into genealogies found in epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana, it extensively addresses Hindu cosmology and geography. Notably, the Vishnu Purana recounts the youthful adventures of revered avatars Krishna and Rama, making references to significant events in their lives.

About The Translator: Horace Hayman Wilson (1786–1860), an eminent English orientalist, achieved the groundbreaking feat of translating the Rigveda into English in 1813. Serving as the first Boden Professor of Sanskrit at Oxford University from 1832, he pioneered the Sanskrit–English Dictionary in 1819. Wilson's diverse contributions encompassed publishing Kalidasa's Meghadūta, exploring Ayurveda, and illuminating Indian drama in "Select Specimens of the Theatre of the Hindus" (1827). His translations of the Vishnu Purana (1840) and the comprehensive "History of British India" (1844–1848) further underscored his profound impact on Sanskrit literature and Indian studies, acknowledged posthumously in a collected edition of his works.
