This book The Whole Truth: CBI Top Cop Speaks covers the entire spectrum of life of the author since childhood in Kosi region of North Bihar, higher education in Patna University and service as a lecturer in Katihar College and Ranchi University, his life as an Indian Police Service officer, including in the districts of Odisha and in CID, two tenures in the CBI and hazards and vicissitudes that he faced in honest discharge of duties. The book gives a deep first-hand insight into the police/CBI investigation supervised by him. Early in his career, author was brought to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), where soon he made his mark as a conscious and upright officer, while handling sensitive cases like KissaKursiKa, Sugar Deal and St Kitts fabrication. He was instrumentalin arrestingMrs Indira Gandhi in the jeep scandal case in 1977under the Janata party government. The relentless fight for truth and transparency in CBI and for his courageous discharge of duties brought him in sharp confrontation with higher authorities. As a result, he faced wrath of high and mighty, to the extent of arrest in a false case by Gurgaon (Haryana) Police, from which he emerged unscathed. The book includes accounts of his two icons – maternal grandfather Shyama Prasad Singh and the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. This book is quite informative for politicians,administrators, academicians and a source of inspiration for the current and future generation of police officers.
