Das Bilderbuch "Teddy Tilly" von Jessica Walton eignet sich als guter Einstieg in die Thematik. Es erzählt die Geschichte über einen Teddybären, der seinen Freunden schlie lich erzählt, dass sie ein Teddymädchen und kein Teddyjunge ist. Teddys Freunde antworten mit Liebe, Fürsorge und Respekt. Die Freundschaft zwischen ihnen ändert sich in keiner Weise, au er dass sie durch diese Erfahrung vielleicht noch gestärkt wird. Das Bilderbuch suggeriert Selbstverständlichkeit, natürliche Akzeptanz und führt die Kinder vorsichtig an den Themenkomplex heran. Die Ausarbeitung beginnt mit einer kurzen Einführung in das Thema "Transgender". Da die Thematik sehr umfassend ist, werden hier nur grundlegende Informationen genannt, die für das Verständnis der Ausarbeitung erforderlich sind. Im Folgenden wird auf die Verbindung von Transgender und Schule eingegangen. Dabei werden Gründe erläutert, warum eine Thematisierung unabdingbar ist, wie Schule Geschlechtserwartungen und -stereotype kreiert beziehungsweise fördert und welche Rolle dabei die Lehrkräfte einnehmen. Anschlie end wird der Inhalt des Bilderbuches "Teddy Tilly" vorgestellt, sowie die Autorin und die Besonderheiten. Daraufhin wird ein Entwurf präsentiert, wie man "Transgender" im Unterricht einer Grundschule mit Hilfe des Bilderbuches thematisieren kann. Der Entwurf beinhaltet Vorschläge der Unterrichtsgestaltung sowie Diskussionspunkte/-themen für eine reichhaltige Anschlusskommunikation. Die Ausarbeitung endet mit einem Resümee der Erkenntnisse und einer themenbezogenen Schlussfolgerung.
