The purpose of this book entitled Theoretical and Methodological Bases of Sports Training, is to capture the basic knowledge necessary for their future formation as sports professionals, without being totally satisfied, it is expected that it will serve to nurture, clarify, and form a much broader conception of sports training, and that it will allow the Physical Culture professional to exercise, once graduated, labor functions with high quality and competitiveness. Its pages gather in synthesis the topics to be addressed in the theory and methodology of sports training, based on the criteria and opinions of a large group of internationally renowned authors.
It is hoped that the effort, dedication, work and sacrifice that has cost the realization of this work, will serve to bring to you the newest knowledge of this subject that is part of the study plan of the degree course in Physical Culture of the Republic of Cuba, that its pages become a multiplier of motivations to enter into this science under construction, where research becomes mandatory for all those who wish to deepen and enrich the intellect in this branch of human knowledge, especially if we talk about a very complex and often contradictory subject, where there are no recipes or schemes, and where the pedagogical work is aimed at providing the theoretical, methodological and organizational tools of the whole process of the preparation of the athlete with a view to superior achievements in high performance competitive sport.
Hopefully, everything that has been done will be useful for the understanding of those who study to learn more about competitive sport, in a world where it is increasingly more difficult to obtain a medal in world-class competitions, due to the quality of the competitors and the preparation they receive to obtain relevant results in each sporting discipline.
Student, everything that has been done has been done thinking of your training, think of those who will continue the path chosen by you, all for the sake of a better and different world, where everyone has the right to be trained, educated, and instructed to continue the progress and development of universal sport.
