So weit, so gut. Aber was bedeutet das für Menschen, die ihren gewohnten Kontext verlassen, um in einem fremden Land, einer fremden Kultur zu leben? Wie erleben und gestalten Migranten ihren Alltag in Deutschland, und welche Zeitkonzepte liegen ihrer Alltagsorganisation zugrunde? Welche Zeitkonzepte lassen sich überhaupt unterscheiden? Wie entwickeln sich unterschiedliche Konzepte, und gibt es welche, die für Migranten typisch sind? Dies sind die Fragen, denen ich in dieser Arbeit nachgehen möchte. Um darzustellen, was die Alltagswelt beinhaltet und aus welchen Elementen sie sich im Hinblick auf die Zeit aufbaut, beziehe ich mich in Kapitel 1 auf ein Konzept der Alltagswelt von Schütz und Luckmann. Den Autoren geht es darum, Kriterien zu beschreiben, die für alle Menschen - egal zu welchem historischen Zeitpunkt und in welchem kulturellen Kontext sie leben - Gültigkeit haben. Also es geht um eine allgemeingültige Struktur der Alltagswelt. Wie diese Struktur im einzelnen ausgefüllt wird, kann von Gesellschaft zu Gesellschaft und nicht zuletzt von Mensch zu Mensch variieren. Mit den verschiedenen Möglichkeiten der Ausgestaltung dieser Struktur setze ich mich in den folgenden Kapiteln auseinander. In Kapitel 2 geht es um die Entwicklung von Zeitbegriffen überhaupt und von soziokulturellen Zeitbegriffen im speziellen. Dabei wird deutlich, warum es zu Spannungen kommen kann, wenn unterschiedliche Konzepte aufeinandertreffen. Auf welchen Dimensionen man kulturelle Zeitkonzepte einordnen kann, schildere ich in Kapitel 3.
