Dabei haben sich abel' die Verfasser bemtiht, die Resultate in eine solche Form zu bringen, dass sie auch fur denjenigen verstandlich und brauchbal' sind, welcher del' logischen Ableitung derselben nicht folgen kann. Da die graphischen Methoden den Vorzug del' Anschau- lichkeit besitzen, so ist der graphischen Behandlung besondere Beachtung geschenkt worden, besonders bei solchen Fallen, wo sich analytische Methoden als schwerfallig und vel'wickelt erweisen wllrden. - Das Bueh zerfallt in zwei Haupt- abtheilungen, die analytische und die graphische. 1m erst en Kapitel wird die TheOl-ie des Magnetismus und del' Elektricitat in elementarer Weise auf Grundlage del' Experimente von Coulomb, Faraday, Joule und Ohm entwickelt. Die Darstellung dieser elell1entaren Principien ist in sich abgeschlossen, so dass zum Vel'standniss dieses Buches ein eingehenderes Studium del' Elektricitat und des Magnetismus kaum erforderlich sein diirfte. Vorwort. IV Alsdann wird die Energiegleichung aufgesteIlt und daraus werden dann in den folgenden Kapiteln die Differential-und Integralgleichungen des Stromes abgeleitet.
