Chris lists hundreds of short story competitions and other writing opportunities on his website.

Due to the site's popularity, he launched the To Hull & Back short story competition in 2013. The aim was to celebrate humorous writing and develop a platform to showcase the very best funny short story writers from around the world.

The anthologies are released annually and contain the winning stories from each contest.
