Unter ungeklärten Umständen ist im Pflegeheim Lebensruh (Todesstern genannt) eine alte Frau verstorben. Matthias Baerke, Altenpflegehelfer, sitzt in Untersuchungshaft und berichtet über den Heimalltag, die zur Normalität gewordene Gewalt und den unerträglichen Zeitdruck innerhalb der Institution. Die für Sprachwitz und Wortjonglagen bekannte Autorin glänzt hier mit bisher unbekannter Schlichtheit, mit einem Stil, der durch seine Authentizität betroffen macht.
