Die drei Freunde werden mit anderen Urlaubern in ein einsames Dschungelcamp verschleppt und erleiden dort schwere Demütigungen und Folter. Nach dramatischen Wochen im tropischen Urwald befreit eine Antiterroreinheit die überlebenden Geiseln, während die beiden Anführer in letzter Sekunde fliehen können. Wieder zu Hause geht das Leben weiter. Um aber den grauenvollen Erinnerungen für eine Weile zu entfliehen, entschlie en sich die Freunde zu einem gemeinsamen Urlaub auf einem Containerschiff. Aber auch auf dieser Hochseereise werden sie vom Schicksal wieder eingeholt. Zwei Männer, die sie nie im Leben wiedersehen wollten, überfallen den Frachter, nehmen die Schiffsbesatzung als Geiseln und fordern Lösegeld. Mit tödlicher Konsequenz steuert die Situation an Bord auf eine Katastrophe zu. Bei stürmischer See in der Biskaya fällt im Morgengrauen die Maschinenanlage aus, und nur ein gelblicher Mond beleuchtet schemenhaft den gnadenlosen Kampf um Leben und Tod.
