Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus is Ludwig Wittgenstein's concise and formally structured philosophical treatise on logic, language, and the limits of meaningful expression.

First published in 1921, this foundational work of twentieth-century analytic philosophy presents a series of numbered propositions examining the relationship between language and reality. Wittgenstein argues that the structure of meaningful statements mirrors the logical structure of the world, and that philosophical confusion arises from misunderstandings of linguistic form. The work proceeds with mathematical precision, culminating in its famous final proposition concerning the limits of speech.

Written during and shortly after the First World War, the Tractatus profoundly influenced logical positivism and the development of analytic philosophy. Educated in engineering before turning to philosophy under Bertrand Russell at Cambridge, Wittgenstein authored two major philosophical works: Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus and Philosophical Investigations. His writings examine the nature of logic, language, meaning, and the limits of philosophical inquiry, and continue to exert substantial influence across philosophy, linguistics, and cognitive theory.
