What truly makes us happy? Is it numbers on the bank account screen, medals on our shirt, trophies on our desk, or something completely different?
Success is often presented as the ultimate destination. Build more. Earn more. Achieve more. Become more. Yet for many who reach the milestones they once dreamed of, a quiet question begins to surface. Is this all there is?Trading Millions for Silence explores what happens when outward success no longer brings inward fulfilment. It is a deeply honest reflection on the journey from ambition and achievement toward clarity, alignment and realisation of something bigger within. This book invites readers to question the modern and conditioned definition of success and to discover a more meaningful way of living, working and being.
Through personal insight and practical reflection, this book explores the tension between external accomplishment and inner contentment. It looks at how professional life, pressure, and the pursuit of achievement shape identity, and how they can also become powerful catalysts for self realisation and transformation. Rather than rejecting work or ambition, the book offers a new relationship to both. One where purpose replaces pressure and where success becomes aligned with truth rather than expectation. This book aims to detach one from the outcome of one's efforts, so work becomes play instead of a source of fear.
Readers will discover how to realign work with inner reality, move beyond the endless cycle of striving, achieving and then getting bored, and cultivate a sense of peace that is not dependent on milestones and achievements. This is not a call to withdraw from life but an invitation to engage with it more consciously, with greater awareness and authenticity.
This book is for anyone who is starting up with work, embarking on the path of entrepreneurship or has achieved, pursued, or questioned success and found themselves searching for something deeper. It speaks to professionals, creatives, leaders, and seekers who sense that fulfilment cannot be found in achievement alone and who are ready to explore a more direct relationship with life, work and themselves.
Author BioSebastian Lyall is a British-Punjabi former hedge fund trader turned entrepreneur, author & speaker.
Beginning his career in journalism and global finance, Sebastian worked in trading roles, including positions at Credit Suisse and within the hedge fund and proprietary trading environments in London and New York. Immersed in high performance, capital markets, and entrepreneurial culture, he experienced firsthand the intensity of success driven professional life and the deeper questions that often arise beneath it.
After transitioning from finance into entrepreneurship, Sebastian founded and led multiple ventures across technology, hospitality, and experience design. He was the founder of Lollipop, an immersive hospitality group recognised for pioneering experiential nightlife and cultural concepts in London and internationally, and has launched ventures spanning digital platforms, consumer products, and Web3 innovation.
He has spent years investigating consciousness, non dual philosophy, neuroscience, and the mechanics of human experience. This exploration led to the development of Logical Humanism and the OMNI Method, frameworks that bridge analytical thinking with contemplative insight and translate ancient awareness teachings into practical models for modern life and work.
Today, Sebastian writes and speaks internationally on self realisation, the evolution of the mind, and the integration of awakening within professional and creative life. His work is known for its direct, structured, and experience based approach. He is the author of multiple books exploring evolutionary non duality, human perception, and continues to deliver talks, retreats, and dialogues globally.
