Troy, Warren: - Warren Troy Extended Bio Born in New York State, Warren Troy has always been an avid outdoorsman. As a child, his favorite activity was spending time at the family cottage in the Catskill Mountains, exploring the forest and observing the wildlife -- the deer, bear and birds. When his family moved to Southern California, Warren directed his interest for the natural world to the desert, roaming that environment as enthusiastically as he used to traipse through the old eastern woods. The fulfillment of his passion for nature was when he moved to Alaska. He has had a love affair with the state ever since, enjoying the hunting, fishing, and amazing wilderness, ultimately homesteading up beyond the head of Kachemak Bay for five full years with his wife, Joyce. Warren Troy's deep connection with Alaska and his experiences there are the inspiration for the Alaska wilderness adventure books he has written, and he has become known for his work.
