This book explores the uses of translation, translators, and interpreters in fiction as a gateway to introduce issues related to Translation Studies. The volume follows recent scholarship on Transfiction, a term used to describe the portrayal of translation (both a topic and a motif), as well as translators and interpreters in fiction and film. It expands on the research by Kalus Kaindl, Karleheinz Splitzl, Michael Cronin, and Rosemary Arrojo, among others.

Although the volume reflects the preoccupation with translator visibility, it concentrates on the importance of power struggles within the translatorial task. The volume could be an invaluable tool to be used for pedagogical purposes to discuss theoretical aspects within Translation and Interpreting Studies.

Miletich, Marko: - Marko Miletich obtained a Ph.D. in Translation Studies from Binghamton University in 2012. He has a master's degree in Liberal Arts with a Concentration in Translation from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, a master's degree in Hispanic Civilization from New York University, and a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Hunter College. His literary translations have appeared in Reunion: 'The Dallas Review', 'K1N Online Literary Translation Journal', and 'Your Impossible Voice'. His most recent publications discuss the use of translators in fiction who are uncomfortable with having to occupy a second-rate space. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Translation in the Modern and Classical Languages Department at SUNY Buffalo State University.
