La transition �pith�liale-m�senchymateuse (TEM) est un processus biologique vital au cours duquel les cellules �pith�liales se transforment en cellules m�senchymateuses, acqu�rant ainsi des capacit�s migratoires et invasives. Ce processus r�versible joue un r�le essentiel dans le d�veloppement embryonnaire, la cicatrisation des plaies, la fibrose et les m�tastases canc�reuses. L'EMT est r�gul�e par des voies de signalisation cl�s, notamment TGF-β, Wnt et Notch, et orchestr�e par des facteurs de transcription tels que Snail et Twist. Dans le cancer, l'EMT facilite l'invasion, les m�tastases et la r�sistance aux traitements, ce qui en fait un facteur important de la progression tumorale. L'EMT contribue �galement � la formation de cellules souches canc�reuses et � l'�vasion immunitaire. L'interaction entre l'EMT et la transition m�senchymateuse-�pith�liale (MET) souligne la plasticit� cellulaire dans les m�tastases, o� les cellules reviennent � l'�tat �pith�lial dans les sites secondaires.
