Fendi Onobun proves that it's never too late to find a new dream. Like many, Onobun was once just a kid shooting hoops in his backyard, who dreamt of playing for a much larger audience. Onobun knew that raw talent wasn't enough to play in the NBA, so he dedicated his life to training for the day he might play pro-ball. After playing power forward for the legendary Coach Lute Olson at the University of Arizona, a change in coaching staff left Onobun's chances of having a professional basketball career up in the air.

With his childhood dream of making it to the NBA in question, friends proposed the idea of trying a new sport: football―a sport he only played once in middle school! Onobun found himself at a crossroads. In a grueling year where he trained simultaneously to play basketball and learn football, he eventually transformed himself from a power forward to a tight end with NFL potential.


Beset with injuries and troubles with his childhood, faith, and trust, he persevered. It was a tough road―for many, it would have been an impossible road―but Onobun's work ethic and determination to do the right thing ended in victory. Onobun, Fendi: - Fendi Onobun is a former NFL tight end and two-sport collegiate athlete, that enjoyed a five-year career with the St. Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2015, Onobun suffered a career-ending knee injury which abruptly altered his path, prompting him to redirect his focus back to his roots in Houston, Texas.Returning to his hometown, Onobun didn't let adversity define him; instead, he embraced it as an opportunity to make a lasting impact on his community. Through philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and writing.In 2023, Onobun expanded his philanthropic efforts by establishing the C.O.R.E Leadership Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students in underserved communities. Through a variety of programs, workshops, and resources, the foundation empowers young individuals with the tools they need to achieve success and unlock their full potential.Onobun is a devoted family man, cherishing his role as a father to two boys, Fendi II and Prince, and a loving husband to his wife Stephanie. His ability to balance his personal and professional life while remaining deeply rooted in his community speaks volumes about his character and values.
