Travels In The Mogul Empire, 1656-1668 is a travelogue written by French physician and traveler Francois Bernier. The book is a detailed account of Bernier's travels through the Mogul Empire, which covered much of present-day India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, during the mid-17th century. The book is divided into four parts, with each part covering a different period of Bernier's travels. In the first part, Bernier describes his journey from Europe to India, including his experiences in Constantinople and the Persian Gulf. The second part covers his time in the court of Aurangzeb, the Mogul Emperor, where he served as a physician and had the opportunity to observe the court and its customs. The third part of the book covers Bernier's travels through various parts of the Mogul Empire, including Delhi, Agra, and Kashmir, as well as his encounters with local rulers and their customs. The final part of the book describes Bernier's return journey to Europe and his reflections on his time in the Mogul Empire. Throughout the book, Bernier provides detailed descriptions of the people, places, and customs he encounters, as well as his observations on the political and social conditions of the Mogul Empire.
