Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Sprachwissenschaft / Sprachforschung (fachübergreifend), Note: 1, Universität Bremen, Veranstaltung: Einführung in die Kleidungssemiotik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der 1915 geborene und 1980 verstorbene Franzose Roland Barthes gilt als einer der Mitbegründer der Semiologie, also der Wissenschaft, die in Saussure'scher Tradition den Zeichenbegriff im Rahmen eines sozialen Lebens u.a. mit sprachwissenschaftlichen Mitteln untersucht (cf. Bu mann 2002: 595). Barthes widmet sich in der von mir behandelten Arbeit "Die Sprache der Mode" (Originaltitel: "Système de la Mode") dem sprachlichen System der Modekommentare in Zeitschriften. Die Arbeit an "Die Sprache der Mode" wird 1957 von Roland Barthes begonnen und 1963 abgeschlossen. 1967 wird das Werk erstmals veröffentlicht. In seinem Text schildert Barthes erstmalig für sein Gesamtwerk vollständig ein gesellschaftliches Teilsystem (cf. Röttger-Denker 1989: 24). Seine Analyse von Metasprache am Beispiel der Modekommentare entsteht dabei durch eine Beschreibung der Konnotationssprache und der sich aus dieser Kombination ergebenden, sich aufeinander beziehenden Ebenen. Seine Analyse der Modesprache ist dabei einzigartig in ihrer Ausführlichkeit - und dies nicht nur in Barthes' Gesamtwerk. Zudem bedeutet "Die Sprache der Mode" einen Wendepunkt für Barthes' Theorien. Nach der abgeschlossenen Analyse steht für Barthes die Erkenntnis fest, dass die Saussure'sche Meinung von der in der Semiologie enthaltenen Linguistik eigentlich umgedreht gehöre (cf. Eco 2002:17 sowie Röttger-Denker 1989: 26), da alle Zeichen sprachlich verfasst seien. Durch diese Erkenntnis verliert die Semiologie ihren Reiz für Barthes und er kehrt mit seinen neuen Einsichten zurück zu den alten Forschungsgegenständen Sprache, Literatur und Kunst. Allerdings wendet er die gewonnenen Gedanken - in der für ihn typischen, kreativen Weise - weiterhin zur Interpretation an (cf. Röttger-Denker 1989: 26).
