Das Kernstück des Bandes bilden zehn Fälle, die sich - didaktisch aufbereitet - überwiegend an höchstrichterlichen Entscheidungen orientieren. Bei der Auswahl der Fälle haben die Verfasser besonderen Wert auf die Beachtung der interdisziplinären Beziehungen des Sozialrechts zum Verfassungsrecht, zum Allgemeinen Verwaltungsrecht und zum Arbeitsrecht sowie zum Proze recht gelegt.
