About The Author

Halsey, Akasha: - Akasha Halsey is a life enthusiast, author, and podcaster. Akasha didn't mind being raised to be a Southern lady except for the admonitions against almost anything outside that got her dirty. It all started at age four with a longed-for cowboy outfit on her wish list to Santa and ended when she received a cowgirl skirt sporting ponies. That convinced her that even Santa didn't want her to have any fun. So she set out on her own to find what she was looking for.After graduating from college, a succession of jobs helped her picture what she wanted for herself as well as who she wanted to be. All of them taught her something new and inspired her to travel, first in the U.S. and then in the Middle East for a number of years. At every turn, she met new and interesting people. Akasha's adventures included living in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, and a commune in Oregon. Not content to stand still, she wrote and starred in two one-woman shows, Maid of Cotton: Stories of the South, Sex, and Spirituality and In Dog Years I'm Dead, and created her own podcast, Now That You Ask. She has worked as a salesperson of foods to country schools in the South, a media buyer for TV and radio, a litigation secretary, and a life coach. Akasha lives in northern California.
