She just thought it was normal. Her mother, a narcissistic sociopath, beat her from infancy, mentally abused her, and later sold her to men to use as they pleased. All the while, Darlene suffered sexual abuse at the hands of another narcissist, her father, since she was a toddler as her mother looked the other way. Leaving home as a young teen, Darlene ended up in a twisted relationship of bondage and slavery. Still, it was better than going back home. Before and during this partnership, which included marriage, many lies about her childhood were revealed that would change her life forever. Darlene' story is one of struggle, healing, and triumph... struggle to survive and understand why anyone could abuse a child, years of self-study and learning to, finally, find healing through living and painful self-awareness, and triumph that through perseverance a new person can emerge.

Darlene Deacon was born in Waltham, Massachusetts and grew up in beautiful Down East Maine. Being a survivor or horrific child abuse, she is working toward new legislation that would better prosecute child predators. Deacon has worked as a television news reporter and producer. She also co-hosted with nationally-known radio talk show host, Dick Farrel. Darlene is also a character actress and a member of the Screen Actors Guild. She has appeared in several television productions including a co-starring role in a FOX television series called "Super Force" and a small part in a movie made for USA Network television entitled "Red Wind."
