Nikolaou, Paschalis: - Paschalis Nikolaou is Associate Professor in Literary Translation at the Ionian University, Greece. He is author of the monograph 'The Return of Pytheas: Scenes from British and Greek Poetry in Dialogue' (2017) and of essays published in, among others: 'Translation and Creativity: Perspectives on Creative Writing and Translation Studies' (2006); 'Translating and Interpreting Conflict' (2007); and 'Translating the Literatures of Small European Nations' (2020). He has edited '12 Greek Poems After Cavafy' (2015) and 'Encounters in Greek and Irish Literature: Creativity, Translations and Critical Perspectives' (2020), guest edited 'Synthesis 12' ('Recomposed: Anglophone Presences of Classical Literature' (2019), and co-edited 'Translating Selves: Experience and Identity Between Languages and Literatures' (2008) and 'Richard Berengarten: A Portrait in Inter-Views' (2017). He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar for 2021 at the Department of Classics of The Ohio State University. Smith, Richard J.: - Richard J. Smith is currently George and Nancy Rupp Professor of Humanities emeritus, a Baker Institute Scholar, and a Research Professor at the Chao Center for Asian Studies, Rice University. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Center for Asian Studies, University of Texas, Austin, and a member of several professional advisory boards. A specialist in modern Chinese history and traditional Chinese culture, Smith also has strong interests in transnational, global and comparative studies. He has published nine single-authored books, the most recent of which is 'The Qing Dynasty and Traditional Chinese Culture' (2015). He has also co-edited or co-authored eight volumes, the most recent of which are 'Reexamining the Sinosphere: Cultural Transmissions and Transformations in East Asia' (2020) and 'Rethinking the Sinosphere: Poetics, Aesthetics, and Identity Formation' (2020).
