Nicht a1lein diese Tatsachen, sondern auch die Wand lung in der Behandlung von Unfallverletzten von den friiher weitgehend konservativen MaBnahmen zu einem jetzt haufiger operativen Vorgehen haben zu einer in tensiveren Beschaftigung zahlreicher Chirurgen mit der U nfa1lchirurgie und damit zu einer Spezialisierung gefiihrt. Bei aller Spezialisierung muB aber die Unfall chirurgie schon im Hinblick auf ihre eigene Entwicklung ein integrierter Bestandteil im Rahmen der Gesamt chirurgie und jeder chirurgischen Ausbildung von Stu denten und Assistenten bleiben. Die Leiter von unfallchirurgischen Abteilungen in deutschen Universitatskliniken haben sich - wie ich glaube erfolgreich -bemiiht, fiir den Unterricht und fiir das praktische Arbeiten von Studenten und Assistenten in der Traumatologie ein einheitliches Skriptum zu schaffen, in dem die Grundziige unfa1lchirurgischen Denkens, Entscheidens und Handels in gedrangter Form dargestellt sind. Der Verpflichtung, akute unfa1l chirurgische Situationen zu erkennen und geeignete SofortmaBnamen zu ergreifen, kann sich kein Arzt entziehen."
