Auch der globale Tourismus nimmt immer weiter zu und wird immer beliebter. Dabei kommunizieren Menschen unterschiedlicher Kulturen miteinander. Bei dieser interkulturellen Kommunikation können schnell Missverständnisse entstehen. Um diese zu vermeiden, ist es wichtig, sich mit den Unterschieden in der Kultur zu befassen. Neben bekannten kulturellen Unterschieden, wie z. B. Unterschieden in Verhaltensweisen, gibt es auch Unterschiede in der Informationsverarbeitung. Menschen verschiedener Kulturen nehmen Information unterschiedlich wahr und interpretieren sie unterschiedlich. Auch das anschlie ende Verarbeiten der Information, also das Lernen, verläuft unterschiedlich. Au erdem gibt es Unterschiede im Voraussetzen von Wissen, im Organisieren von Information und auch in den Denkstilen. Es stellt sich die Frage, auf welche Weise diese Unterschiede von der Kultur bestimmt werden und wie man diese Unterschiede möglicherweise veranschaulichen kann, um sie zu vergleichen. Denn erst durch die Veranschaulichung und den Vergleich ist es möglich, die Unterschiede zu erkennen und darauf einzugehen, damit es nicht zu Missverständnissen und Problemen in der interkulturellen Kommunikation kommt.
