Die Entwicklung und der Einsatz absolut neuer Werkstoffe auf der Grundlage bisher nicht verwendeter Sondermetalle ist nur in besonders gelager- ten Fallen wirtschaftlich gerechtfertigt. Es ist haufig sinn- voller, von konventionellen Metallen auszugehen und diese in einen GefUgezustand zu bringen, der ihre Eigenschaften in der gewUnschten Richtung verbessert. Hinsichtlich der mechanischen Eigenschaften kann dies durch den Einbau dUnner Fasern oder Platten aus hartem Material in paralleler Anordnung in eine zahe metallische Grundmatrix geschehen [1]. Es sei erwahnt, daB dadurch bei bestimmten Kombinationen von Matrix- und Faser- bzw. Lamellenmaterial Verbundwerkstoffe mit besonders interes- santen elektrischen oder magnetischen Eigenschaften erhalten werden konnen [2]. Als besonders vorteilhaft hat sich die sog. in situ Herstellung der Verbundwerkstoffe erwiesen. Darunter versteht man die Bil- dung des lamellaren GefUges aus einer einzigen Ausgangsphase [3].
