Gaviola, Arnel: - Born and raised in the Philippines, my journey into the world of fitness and movement began during my university days. Exploring activities like weight training, marathons, swimming, and ballet ignited a passion within me, ultimately leading me to the path of becoming a Pilates instructor. Early in my career, I had the privilege of being mentored by a dear friend who was trained under esteemed Pilates Methods like Polstar, Ron Fletcher, and Bodyworks. With a background in Fine Arts and experience as a graphic designer, I found myself uniquely equipped to craft and design my own Pilates routines. This became essential since there were no Pilates training facilities in my hometown of Cebu, Philippines.As I honed my skills and expertise, I seized an opportunity to undergo training as a Pilates instructor in Singapore which is a Physical Mind Institute training facility. There, I melded my previous experiences into the Pilates method, infusing creativity and innovation into my teaching. My thirst for Pilates education remained unquenchable, prompting me to continue my journey by migrating to New Zealand and pursuing it from taking the Stott Pilates certification course.Throughout this remarkable 20-year journey as a Pilates teacher, I was fortunate to find consistent employment in studios that allowed me to teach with my distinct style, refining and developing it over time. Yet, my passion for learning and sharing Pilates never waned. Now, as I publish this book, my goal is to extend a beacon of creativity and innovation to the global Pilates community. I firmly believe that skills, especially within the realm of movement, transcend individuals and become a universal language.My hope is that this book will inspire and empower fellow enthusiasts and instructors around the world, fostering a sense of unity and collective growth within the Pilates community.
