Ventura te dé Dios, hijo es una obra de Tirso de Molina, uno de los dramaturgos más influyentes del Siglo de Oro español. La obra presenta las luchas y preocupaciones de un joven estudiante, Otón, que vive dividido entre las obligaciones académicas y sus sentimientos amorosos. A través de la pieza, Tirso de Molina explora temas como la educación, el amor y la memoria, ofreciendo una visión cómica pero también profunda de las tensiones entre el deber y el deseo.
Otón es el protagonista de la obra, un estudiante que se debate entre las expectativas de sus padres y su propia incapacidad para retener el conocimiento. Aunque trabaja duro para memorizar el Arte de Antonio de Nebrija, se encuentra con un obstáculo: su memoria. A su vez, Otón está enamorado de Rosela y se pregunta por qué, si puede recordarla con tanta claridad, no puede hacer lo mismo con sus estudios.
Ventura te dé Dios, hijo empieza con un monólogo que muestra los pensamientos y emociones de Otón. Tirso de Molina utiliza un lenguaje poético y lleno de referencias clásicas, como la mención a Apolo, el dios de las artes y las ciencias. La obra comenta el sistema educativo de la época y reflexiona sobre las limitaciones humanas.
