Die Machtergreifung Hitlers machte es für Schriftsteller wie Brecht notwendig, das faschistische Deutschland zu thematisieren und Ungerechtigkeiten aufzuzeigen, um wenigstens einem kleinen Teil der Gesellschaft die Augen zu öffnen. Die folgende Arbeit beschäftigt sich zunächst mit den Zielen Bertolt Brechts. Es soll geklärt werden, was er bei seinen Rezipienten mit seiner Art zu schreiben erreichen möchte und durch welche Methoden er seine Absichten verwirklicht. Diese Fragen werden mit einem besonderen Augenmerk auf die Kapitalismuskritik im Dreigroschenroman, in der ebenfalls Parallelen zu Geschichte dargestellt werden sollen, näher erläutert. In einem weiteren Teil wird das Thema Schuld aus der Sicht Bertolt Brechts behandelt. Folgende Frage soll besonders untersucht werden: Wie wird die Rolle der Schuld im Dreigroschenroman thematisiert? All diese Gesichtspunkte sind Bestandteile des politischen Schreibens und erfüllen einen bestimmten Zweck. Diesen gilt es näher zu untersuchen. Am Ende dieser Arbeit steht ein Fazit, das die behandelten Gesichtspunkte zusammenfasst und überprüfen soll, wie gut es Brecht gelingt den Dreigroschenroman als ein politisches Lehrstück zu verfassen.
