Kern der Arbeit ist damit die Analyse von bestehenden Konzepten. Das Verständnis der Begriffe Familie, Beruf und Vereinbarkeit bildet die Grundlage für die Darlegung der heute in Deutschland anzutreffenden Lage von Familien, aus welcher sich wichtige Schlussfolgerungen für die Akteure in Politik und Wirtschaft ergeben. Im nächsten Schritt wird die Beschreibung umgesetzter Ma nahmen auf Ebene der Familienpolitik, aber auch seitens der Wirtschaft exemplarisch erfolgen. Anschlie end werden diese kritisch der Lebenswirklichkeit in Deutschland gegenübergestellt und so bewertet. Die Mutter am Herd, der Vater arbeitet bis spät abends. Einer neuen Studie des Deutschen Instituts für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW) zufolge scheint es ganz einfach, dieses tradierte Bild aufzusprengen: Mehr Ganztagsangebote für Grundschulkinder sind der Auslöser für mehr erwerbstätige Mütter. Doch ist diese Lösung zur besseren Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf in Deutschland wirklich so formelhaft und einfach möglich? Was bedeutet überhaupt Vereinbarkeit? Ist das beschriebene Bild der verheirateten Kernfamilie samt des sogenannten Ernährermodells überhaupt noch typisch für Deutschland? Was geschieht im Land in Bezug auf Familienfreundlichkeit? Welche Ma nahmen ergreift die Familienpolitik und inwiefern beteiligen sich wirtschaftliche Akteure im Prozess? Diese Fragen sollen im Rahmen der Hausarbeit beantwortet werden. Aufgrund der Vielfalt familiärer Aufgaben fokussiert und beschränkt sich die Arbeit bewusst auf Vereinbarkeit im Sinne der Familiengründung und der Zeit der Kindererziehung. Verzichtet wird bewusst auf Ausführungen, die die Pflege von Angehörigen im Alter thematisieren, um dem gegebenen Rahmen
