Inhaltsangabe: Gang der Untersuchung: Diese Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit der Problematik des nachträglichen Anbaus von Balkonen an bestehende Mehrgeschossbauten des Mauerwerksbaus. Einführend werden baurechtliche, bauphysikalische und gestalterische Aspekte beim Baikonbau interpretiert, dabei wird auf die geltenden Normen und einschlägige Literatur verwiesen. Eine Untersuchung von mehreren realisierten Beispielen stellt verschiedene Konstruktionslösungen vor, welche nach Art und Prinzip der Lastabtragung geordnet werden. Des Weiteren zeige ich signifikante Rahmenpunkte bei Planung und Entwurf, Gestaltung sowie Detailausführung auf. Auf potentielle Probleme bei der Bauausführung wird hingedeutet. Anschlie end werden die Konstruktionen nach objektiven Gesichtspunkten beurteilt und es wird auf subjektive Charakteristika der Bewertung hingewiesen. Mit einem Kriterienkatalog soll die Entscheidungsfindung bei der Projektierung vereinfacht und beschleunigt werden. Dazu führt eine Liste von spezifischen Fragen den Projektanten bei der Auswahl der denkbaren konstruktiven Lösungen sowie bei der Wahl der geeigneten Baumaterialien.
